The Abandoned House of Luna

Krystal: There is a Trigger Warning in this Adventure Log for allusions to s//h and depression. If you are unable to handle these topics, please let me know in Luna's mind and I can give you a smaller summary of what's found.

[Location Tag - Australis District - Luna and Jane's Old House]

[Now Loading - One Moment Please]

K - Allie? What the fuck.

A - I have... no idea. I don't even remember adding Location Tags to everything.

On reaching the old house that Luna and Krystal shared, time unfreezes. Violet is able to recognize the house as the same one Rebecca stopped in front of a couple days ago. Violet enters the house, looking around at anything that stands out or piques her interest. The very first room Violet enters is the Living Room. It's a pretty large room with a massive glass skylight in the ceiling providing some natural lighting as well as opportunities to stargaze at night. The glass up there is still intact, but the windows in the living room are shattered. The carpet is extremely gross as well, definitely affected by the elements considering the lack of windows. Nothing of note is found in the living room except for a piece of paper near the far corner of the room. Strange, how everything else is vandalized and graffitied but this paper still exists.

Violet walks up and picks up the piece of paper, looking to see what it is on it.

It seems to be a letter, dated October 26, 2021. The handwriting is extremely messy and in some points, it seems whoever wrote it shed some tears on the page.

[Now Playing - Memories of Unmatched Determination]

To whoever reads this, be it Crescent or my creators, You win. You've completely exhausted my resources, you've destroyed my memories. You've destroyed my love. I'm clearly unable to move on living the way I am. Instead of... ending things off physically, as you clearly wish for me, I am leaving. You will never find me, never be able to hurt me again, whether I'm six feet below here or thriving elsewhere. I refuse to be your experiment any longer. I look forward to your eventual downfall Solaire. Goodbye forever and good riddance.

Behind the note is another piece of paper. An advertisement looking for warriors in another world. An advertisement Violet may recognize as the beginning of an apocalyptic conflict that led Luna away from her previous life.

K - ...

"Poor Luna." Violet pockets the note as she moves in to the kitchen. The kitchen is about as barren. It has about what someone would expect in a kitchen, just minus food. Considering the boxes in the recycle bin, it looks like she tried her best to conserve ingredients, but her pantries are all empty. The sink is turned off and has no running water, but the lights still work. Notably, missing from the knife holder is a cleaver.

K - ...but it was a butcher's knife that ended me, not a cleaver...?

Violet moves onto the bedroom, opening the door and looking around. It is a small bedroom populated with various bits of furniture. all of it caked with dust. A single twin-sized bed that clearly hasn't been made in a long time considering the bare dirty mattress and various items scattered all around the floor. A large desk is in the back of the room with what seems to be an old laptop, and in the shelves are some various books and documents.

Violet first looks at the books and documents, looking to see anything that stands out. They're all analog archives of Luna's life that she took every single day between the day Krystal brought her home and the day she left for Meridian. Every single page has a similar opening, My name is Luna, I am [age], today is [date]. And on each page is what she did on those days. Most of the tasks are mundane, but some are a bit more in-depth, detailing Luna working or trying to learn a new thing. And sometimes having to relearn that new thing for weeks on end before it stuck. A lot of the pages have messy handwriting, and some even messier considering the red marker drawn over some of them which seems to indicate her anger for her situation.

On two of the pages, namely April 26, 2021 and September 20, 2021, it appears Luna wrote she felt being watched and that she was highly uncomfortable in her own skin. Something about a Moon seeing her every move. And some pages being just THE MOON scribbled over and over again in various colors, some pages being so caked in writing that it's nigh impossible to even read them.

"Full moon dates… hmmm." Violet takes note as she moves to the laptop, opening up the lid. The laptop opens up, but it does not turn on. "Hmm.." Violet looks for a charger perhaps in a drawer or an on switch of some kind. The laptop is plugged in. Pressing the on button leads to the screen taking a few moments to turn on properly but then displaying an error:

Internal Hard Disk Drive not found. To resolve this issue, try to reseat the drive.

"Hm? That’s weird." Violet looks at the bottom of the laptop, looking to see if the drive is there and if so, if it's damaged. The hard drive is gone. "What the… maybe Luna took it? But then why did she not take the whole laptop?"

Violet looks around for anything else around the room, seeing if anything else of value is around before moving into the closets to see if anything else is located in the house. Over in the corner of the room, there seems to be some drawings Luna made. Violet moves over to the drawings, picking them up and looking at them.

The first one Violet picks up seems to be a purple blob on the floor with something blue coming out of its red eyes and two other blobs, one with grey hair and a yellow tie and the other with black hair seem to have their hands on its shoulders. The second one is a rather chaotic drawing of a circle Luna seems to have made at some point. It's totally black and white and extremely messy. On this drawing, there are both tears and what looks like splotches of red in parts. In very very chaotic and large writing, the words "IT WATCHES ME, IT SEES ME, IT KNOWS" is written over the Circle. Beneath the circle is the same dark haired blob from the previous one laid down underneath. The final drawing is of one more blob, this one with yellow hair, the rest of it is scribbled out in red. Above it, the words WHO IS THIS is written in the same chaotic and angry style.

After processing the drawings, she takes them for her own evidence, then she heads into the closets.

K - Poor Luna.. but what do you mean there's only one twin bed?? Our bed was a king size!

The first closet is completely empty aside from wire hangers. The second closet, on the other hand, has something. Near the ground, something is written on the wall, L+J - Forever with a heart surrounding it.

K - Yeah I wrote that! That was on the night... I was to die.

Violet sighs as she moves onto the bathroom, but there's nothing of note. Though it is extremely clean. Then she looks for any sign that Jane even lived there, but aside from the single twin-sized bed, it's almost as if Jane never existed.

K - WHAT. WAIT NO, WHERE'S MY STUFF AT???

A - Calm down Krys, there has to be an explanation for all of this.

K - NO I WILL NOT CALM DOWN. WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING???

Violet does one final sweep of the house to make sure she didn't miss anything. The skylight in the living room continues to shine the Sun on the living room. Violet's Flamebearer feather reacts underneath it, seemingly getting a little warmer, but standing underneath it herself and looking for a specific reaction, she finds nothing. She notices the Mailbox crashed through the front window and looks for anything inside but finds nothing.

She moves on and walks around the slums. Her thoughts are filled with information, such as the murders, the Many Gods Above, all of the strange loading zones. Who truly is alive or dead, or even what is real. She finds a bench near one of the parks in the District, and spends some time writing, trying to focus her insanity somewhere else instead of acting on them. Violet watches her surroundings and waits with her phone out to see if anyone took her offer seriously. Or if she's alone in this weird and confusion situation.

An hour later, Violet's phone rings.

"Hm?" Violet picks up the phone and looks at the caller tag, but it says [unknown.] Then, she answers with "hello?"

The other voice is feminine and squeaky, "hello, is this Violet Naomi?"

Violet responds, "This is her. How may I help you...?"

"Are you the Violet Naomi that posted the ads by my house? About the weird freezes? I uh might be able to tell you about what happened." The voice seems unsure of herself.

"Oh? I’m all ears!"

There's a long pause before the voice responds, her tone is hushed, "I was walking around near the forest and I felt everything freeze for a split second. And then I heard a really loud screech, it was so loud I thought it broke my eardrums. Then I felt tired, so I went back home."

"That screech would be the Flamebearer… but ma'am are you alright?"

"I... I don't know? Ever since that day, I've felt weird. Tired. Lack of energy. A-And Flamebearer? Isn't that a myth mom told me to stay away from the forest??? It's been a few weeks now." The voice sounds exhausted while speaking, its cute squeaky quality becoming more and more mellowed out.

"I see… anything else you can tell me? May I know your name?"

"S-sure it's Tina.. Tina Maxwell...." The person seems to have fallen asleep judging by the soft snoring sounds.

Violet looks a bit worried as she saves the phone number to her contacts, hoping that she can figure out what’s going on, perhaps with Tina’s help. After spending some more time to add to her notes, Violet walks around the slums a bit longer to make sure there's nothing she missed, but realizing all she's missing is various bits of vandalism and graffiti, the air vibrates around her as she quantum jumps back to The Gang's house.
