Hey, it's Nightmare Luna. How y'all doing? Hard to believe that just two years ago, my very first blogpost was released on the world. One that... honestly didn't have much. It introduced Krystal and Luna in a very casual manner, and that's to be expected. Back when I first began this project, it wasn't going to be an ARG. Originally, Diary of an Archivist Catgirl was going to be just that. A diary for my then TWR persona, Luna Grey, to post about her life in Apocalypse. A creative writing exercise and a way to get more backstory generated, so I could continue to flesh her character.
To be completely honest, I had never written before. Joining TWR back then, or what was then called the "XK Scenarios", this was my very first creative venture aside from summarizing PieWrites, my only other project at the time Omni Pie, and a couple short RPs I did in Relived Eternally. I also didn't expect all of this to go for so long. I had predicted that this XK Scenario thing would've lasted maybe a couple weeks tops. Previous RPs within REM Sleep never lasted for long. To think that I would be continuing to write this story for this long, two years into my lifetime, three years if you count PieWrites/Relived Eternally (I do!), it's incredible how privileged I am to have found such a fantastic group of writers and friends in this community. I couldn't have done any of this without any of you guys being there for me.
So now, with all of that out of the way, I wanna throw some insight in how I write. It's not super in-depth thankfully, as most of my story is free-written. I have notes. I have lore in a notebook. I have rules that even I have to follow, despite me being the GM and can technically make the rules up as I go. But past that, I rarely prewrite. If there's an adventure, I'll have a rather simple path, but dialog and actions can easily vary depending on mood. It's really fun and freeing to do as I wish with my world, within reason of course. Rules exist to be followed, after all. :p
Fun fact about this game is it's heavily based around a Pokemon fangame I was going to program a few years ago in Pokemon Essentials/RPG Maker, but realizing that what I wanted to do would actually require some intense levels of programming, I scrapped it. Unfiction was my key to finally pulling this story out and finishing the lore for it. If you'll notice, there's a simple LEADER > ADMIN > GRUNT hierarchy in the 'Evil' team structures. That's completely on purpose. I might have pulled that from Team Rocket >.> Don't call me out for stealing, I promise my teams aren't so hellbent on world domination... what? D-Don't look at me like that! This is just one city in the world, after all. It's hard to conquer the world if you've only been to one single portion of it. If you thought it to be famiiar, you're right. It's 100% Pokemon. In fact, Capital City is basically just Lumiose City with its four districts and central main area!
Anyway, I'm rambling. The End is near after all. I need to stop focusing so much and finish up some things. I got some cool things heading your way, I can't wait to show you everything. Y'all are genuinely the best. Thank you so much for the two years of fun, and here's to a bit more. Appreciate y'all, whether you're an active player or a casual reader, you mean the WORLDS to me. Peace.
