[When you step out of the museum, it is indeed night time. The moon is full in the sky and beams down upon you like it's watching your every move. The Moon is The Magickas' peaceful watcher after all, but somehow you’re able to sense that something is clearly incorrect with it. Something in your own primal instincts tells you that it's wrong. For once, 'The Moon Isn't Right' isn't just some saying some animal people made up, or an issue with the Gods. You, with your werewolfy instincts, can tell something is wrong. No matter what you do or how much you see it, the moon doesn't affect you like it would on a normal Full Moon night. You don't transform, even if all of your instincts and perhaps even your fears says otherwise. It helps that you know that back home, it's a crescent moon.]
Stepping into the streets, Spider begins to notice where everyone was. Everyone she saw in the Guild and leading into the Museum of Legends is outside. They're all staring up into the sky and at the full moon. Spider's hands start to tremble as every atom of her screams that this is wrong, she forces herself to look up and over at the crowd, and as she moves towards them every step feels heavy. She doesn't know what to do and everything is wrong.
[You reach Sandra, who physically cannot put her head down. She looks over at the suffering Spider and pleads, "I don't know what's wrong with me. I can't... stop looking at it! Please... I beg of you, can you find out why. It hurts! I--" And then a sudden change. Bells begin playing in the area and her pleading for help silences. She speaks in a monotone drone, "I love the moon. The moon is our peaceful watcher, it is our powerful friend. I love the moon. The moon is right. The moon is right. The moon is right." The rest of the crowd joins her in repeating "The moon is right." over and over.]
[Something is horribly wrong. You know the moon isn't right, and it's bigger than you've ever seen it before. You would know, it does not cover the night sky like this, even on supermoons. It seems you're the only hope for these people. It looks fake. Artificial. Generated somehow. Like someone pasted a photo of the moon into the sky.]
Error reacts to the chaos and speaks to Spider internally: This is wrong. Where is the moon coming from? I need to scan the area.
Ears still flattened after the din of bells and cult like-chanting, seriously what is it with this world and cults, Spider takes a quick glance around again then pulls Error out of its sheath attempting to scan the crowd.
Error's cone stretches further than you've ever seen, even seemingly scaling the buildings nearby. It vibrates when it finds something. What the hell Spark?? Are you insane? Oh wait, it's Spark of course. Look up there.
Enshrouded in red glow, you see what looks like a spotlight shining an image into the sky. It's pointed up into the clouds, which adds to the strange look to the moon. Its location? At Borealis Guild, right outside of the entrance.
I wonder... what would happen if we broke it somehow? Would it stop the chaos?
"..looks like it." Despite every instinct telling them otherwise Spider turns away from the crowd and starts to trudge back towards the guild gripping Error tightly.
They have no issues getting back to the Guild and as is still glowing, they find the culprit. A label on the device calls it a NOVA HEART LUNAR ILLUSION PROJECTION MODULE, but no other details are found. It’s pointed up at the sky and it seems like it could be broken somehow.
Stooping down to get a better look, Spider examines the projector.
It seems to be about as bog-standard of a spotlight projector as you can get. Think like the Bat-Signal. Something about the power supply is strange though. It doesn't seem to be connected to anything. No electricity or otherwise. Error asks on the face of its bat, Spider, can you break the glass with me?
Despite the situation Spider can't help the smirk that forms from Error's request, and attempts to shatter the glass with blade's handle.
Error glows red to give Spider some of its magic and the glass breaks! The illusion of the moon projected on the sky doesn't completely fade, but its clarity definitely appears affected.
It's.. not over? Are there more Projectors out there?
Well that was disappointing, Spider glances around the area then uses Error to scan trying to find the other projectors.
[You find another one pretty easily, over in Borealis's shopping district. It's on top of a small 1-story building, specifically a toy shop. It's also pointing to the sky. Without the aura, it'd be impossible to see. "Let's break more shit!"]
In a flash of green sparks Spider and Error appear next to the projector and once again they use Error to smash the glass. With an aura of crimson, Error's magic alongside Spider's strength breaks through the second projector. The image of the moon on the cloudy sky disappears and what sounds like a zap of electricity is heard by the group of people forced to stare at it alongside a scream.
The scream catching her attention, Spider's ears perk up as they look over the crowd. It's vague considering their distance, but they see a shadowy figure walking over by the group. Well the moon might be gone but it seems the uneasy feeling remains as Spider teleports a bit closer to observe the figure.
[Getting closer, you see someone walking around the now passed out crowd of people. The entire district, or what seems like it considering the sheer amount of people, is down on the ground and someone with a masculine voice speaks aloud, "What a pity. Our Lunar Illusion Projection Modules aren't perfect yet. Hrm. This plan could've been perfect but Sirius just had to leave. The moon was to be pulled down from the heavens to increase our power tenfold, but no!"]
[You then see someone else next to the figure, a bit more clear in comparison especially considering the floppy rabbit ears and feminine figure this person has. "Our plan will still go through Dad. We have the Creatures, and I just defeated another Caster of Legend earlier tonight! Flame Force's power is mine! Our control will only grow."]
The man chuckles, "Goood job Hypernova. I knew this was the play. Andromeda, report." His voice becomes almost nervous. "What? Did... how? But they were covered in optic camouflage and magic-resistant barriers! How did they break them! Find them Scream's Aria! Erm... right, Andromeda, my mistake."
[Oop, someone's deed was found out. What do you do now Spider? Do you reveal yourself, keep hiding, or leave? The choice is yours.]
Mind racing at the sight of Hypernova, Spider swears silently and decides to leave, live to fight about day and all that. Though unfortunately she disappears with the usual firework burst of green sparks.
When Spider leaves, Hypernova looks over at the shower of sparks with a grin on her face.
