Breaking the Prism Arena

Luna nods and waves the touchscreen back down.

[You see on the screen a menu for different options to Change the Arena into any configuration that you could want. There's also something called a Context Sensitive Custom Input screen that seems enticing. There's an About option as well, probably for the developer to pat themselves on the back for whatever they created.]

>About
>Context Sensitive Custom Input

[Pick your poison]

Viper looks at the touchscreen as she rolls her eyes, "Lets see who made this so I know who to tell that they need to add exclusions into their code."

She taps the about option.

[Tapping the About option leads to an odd-looking snowy transition, like a bunch of snowflake emojis cover the screen then melt, then the following text appears:

~ S.O.L.I.D. VISION PRISM ARENA ~

Passionately created for the better of Magickind by Yuki ❄️. With this, I hope to stop the needless death of thousands every year.

Version - 1.0
Creator - Yuki Frost
Current User - Luna Nightshade

Current Location - Fairview Satellite Guild - [unknown state], USA, NON-MAGICAL EARTH

FOR DEVELOPER OPTIONS - PLEASE SWIPE YOUR CARD NOW

[Above the screen, you notice what looks to be a card swiping mechanism just floating there in hologram. You could probably swipe some kind of card in there to scan it.]

Hinata tilts her head while reading the screen, "wait Yuki made this? That's really cool."

Viper raises an eyebrow at the card swiping mechanism and hesitantly swipes her Nova ADMIN card into it.

The screen goes black for a couple moments before turning back on and back to the main menu:

~ S.O.L.I.D. VISION PRISM ARENA ~

Welcome Nova Heart ADMIN Rasalhague

~ S.O.L.I.D. VISION PRISM ARENA DEVELOPER MENU ~
>Change the Arena
>Change Arena Battle Type
>Change Arena Properties
>Change Arena Pricing
>Turn on/off Protections
>Context Sensitive Custom Input

"Whoa how'd you do that?" Hinata asks. Luna looks a bit uneasy for some reason.

Viper seems extremely surpised as she blinks, "Why is this open to me?? That's a vulnerability, only the person that made this should have access and I sure as shit did not make this." She attempts to swipe to go back to the previous menu. Swiping the screen does nothing.

Hinata thinks about it for a second and reasons, "Maybe it recognizes ADMINs? Like let's be honest here Viper, They probably want to control pricing and stuff." Luna is just watching quietly.

Viper nods as she swipes her card again "Maybe this will work?"

[Swiping the card again causes the screen to black out for a little longer and you notice something flash briefly on the screen. It doesn't stay long enough, however, for it to be read. Luna looks nervous while watching. You return to the same Developer menu.]

"Maybe you can get out through the custom input?" Hinata asks. Luna finally speaks up, "Though... I guess this means you're still an ADMIN Viper."

Viper looks over and Hinata then nods as she taps the Context Sensitive Custom Input, then looks over at Luna as she speaks "Yeah....I suppose that means I am..."

[You notice a keyboard float in mid-air right near the screen. It's a standard QWERTY keyboard made of the same material as the rest of the Augmented Reality. It's not solid or tactile in the slightest, but it's surprisingly easy to type on.]

Luna wonders aloud, "I wonder if it's like my Memory Map. If it is, you can type questions and stuff and it'll probably know what you're looking for."

Viper sighs as she frowns at the keyboard and awkwardly types in "What are the limits of this software?"

>WHAT ARE THE LIMITS OF THIS SOFTWARE?

~ SOLID VISON PRISM ARENA ~

THE LIMITS OF THE SOLID VISION PRISM ARENA ARE LARGELY THE USER'S IMAGINATION. DO THEY WANT TO FIGHT AT A LUNARTICS CONCERT? WE'LL MAKE IT HAPPEN? IN THE MIDDLE OF SPACE ON THE MOON? SURE.

THE ONLY LIMITS WE HAVE ARE THE ENVIRONMENTS MUST NOT HARM THE SYSTEM OR THE USERS ITSELF. I.E. A BATTLEGROUND FRESH AFTER NUCLEAR FALLOUT WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED, OR A BATTLEGROUND MINUS BREATHABLE OXYGEN, OR AT THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN. WE WILL MODIFY THE ARENA TO MAKE THE LOCATIONS SAFE AT OUR DISCRETION.

Hinata shakes her head and groans, "no that can't be right. Remember the fight with Elara Lu? We were actually set on fire during that portion." Luna is shaking out of sheer fear on remembering that.

Viper looks over as she answers, "It did have an option to disable protection so that's probably the answer to that."

>WHAT ABOUT LOCATIONS YOU HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF?

IF IT IS NOT RECOGNIZABLE BY THE SYSTEM, THE USER CAN ATTEMPT TO DESCRIBE THEIR TARGET VIA THE CONTEXT SENSITIVE CUSTOM INPUT OPTION. OUR SYSTEM IS INTELLIGENT AND CAN DETECT NUANCE IN LANGUAGE. THE LIMITATION TO THAT IS THE CONTEXT SENSITIVE CUSTOM INPUT ONLY RECOGNIZES ENGLISH INPUT. IT IS BECAUSE MY MAIN CREATOR - YUKI FROST - ONLY KNOWS ENGLISH FLUENTLY.

HOW CAN I HELP YOU?

>HOW LONG ARE DESCRIPTIONS SAVED FOR?

DESCRIPTIONS ARE SAVED PER USER. FOR EXAMPLE: IF 'YOUNG MAN A' WANTED TO FIGHT IN A HAUNTED HOUSE, FOUGHT, LEFT, THEN CAME BACK TWO MONTHS LATER, THEY COULD CHECK THE CHANGE THE ARENA OPTION AND RESELECT OR MODIFY SAID AFOREMENTIONED HAUNTED HOUSE CONFIGURATION. ONLY ONE CONFIGURATION MAY BE SAVED AT A TIME.

>

Viper nods then looks between Luna and Hinata "Seems pretty locked up plus it's not gonna leak any of the arenas we use to anyone which means we would pretty much be free to try anything we want."

Luna still doesn't trust anything Nova creates and warns, "Before you assume, make sure if Admins and higher can't access them first."

>WHO CAN ACCESS DESCRIPTIONS?

ARENA DESCRIPTIONS CAN ONLY BE ACCESSED BY THE USER. SAY 'ADMIN A' WISHED TO SEE WHAT 'YOUNG MAN A' USED FOR THAT PREVIOUSLY DESCRIBED HAUNTED HOUSE CONFIGURATION, THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO. SAME GOES FOR 'LEADER A'. THE ONLY TIME A CONFIGURATION COULD BE ACCESSED BY 'ADMIN A' OR 'LEADER A' IS IF IT WERE CONNECTED TO A CRIME. FOR EXAMPLE, IF SOMEONE ATTEMPTED TO MURDER ANOTHER USING THE PRISM ARENAS, THE PEACEKEEPERS FROM THE AGENCY OF ARCANE AFFAIRS (AAA) MAY REQUEST AN ADMIN TO COLLECT THE AFOREMENTIONED ARENA CONFIGURATION.

"Hrm... I guess it's safe?" Luna sighs defeatedly. "At least we have our privacy here."

Viper nods as she smiles and looks over at Luna "That's a lot better than I expected honestly, props to whoever made this, so....do we wanna try and break this thing or what?"

"Let's do it." Luna nods. Hinata is relaxing on one of the tatami mats.

Viper asks quietly, "How the fuck do you go back to the original menu...." she attempts to swipe away the display and then pull it back up

This time, the swipe works. She returns to the previous menu:

Welcome ADMIN Rasalhague

~ S.O.L.I.D. VISION PRISM ARENA DEVELOPER MENU ~
>Change the Arena
>Change Arena Battle Type
>Change Arena Properties
>Change Arena Pricing
>Turn on/off Protections
>Context Sensitive Custom Input

Viper shrugs and selects "Change the Arena" as she speaks "Surely the dev menu version of 'change the arena' isn't too different."

Luna shrugs and responds, "It's usually pretty simple. In normal mode, it's time of day, season, weather conditions, and basic location."

~ ARENA CHANGE MENU ~

>TIME OF DAY - MORNING / DAY / NOON / AFTERNOON / SUNSET / NIGHT / RANDOM

>SEASON - SPRING / SUMMER / FALL / WINTER / RANDOM

>WEATHER CONDITIONS - RAINY / SUNNY / SNOWY / CLOUDY / OPEN CEILING / RANDOM

>MOON SETTINGS - FULL / NEW / ECLIPSE / RANDOM

>LOCATION - CLUB / FIELD / DOJO / SHIP / SPACE / STARRY NIGHT / RANDOM

>TIMED ARENA CHANGE - YES / NO

"Random? That's different," Luna notes as she sees something else that causes her to go silent with fear.

Viper looks through the options and notices the eclipse and full option, "Not gonna be pressing those two" she selects "Morning, Summer, Sunny, Random, No"

[Upon pressing all of the chosen options, the whole Prism Arena goes completely dark, then a moment later, the lights turn on to a bright sunny flower field in the morning, Fresh dew is on flowers and grass and it seems very friendly for combat. A gentle breeze flows on everyone. If you didn't know you were in Prism Arena right now, you'd think you just woke up out here. It all feels real, even perhaps too real. The scents, the air, the breeze, even just that little chill of it being so early in the morning. It's familiar in the best way possible.]

Hinata wakes up yelping, "fuck fuck fuck coooooooooooooooold what the hell happened?? Where's the tatami mats???? Ah...oh.. we're still here." Luna's eyes are amazed by it. It's like she blinked and now she's in a completely new place.

Viper looks around and blinks in confusion, "It....it feels like i'm outside...but...i'm very clearly not" she pauses "It's oddly beautiful but not nearly as beautiful as both of you"

[You can definitely tell you're still in in a glass cube. If go too far out, you get stopped by panes of glass. It's not a perfect simulation, but it's pretty good considering everything.]

Both Luna and HInata melt at the words.

Viper shrugs and asks "I wonder what happens If I set them all to random aside from the sun? ...I don't really want a full or eclipse moon showing up."

Hinata shrugs, "I guess try it? What's the worst that can happen?"

Viper nods, pulls the panel down, and selects, "Change the Arena" then selects "Day, Random, Random, Random, No"

[With another blink, what you see before you is CHAOS. Yes the time of day is bright and visible, but everything else changes at a quick pace. You notice the clouds above you keep rolling in and out, sometimes raining, sometimes snowing, even sometimes storming and big booms of thunder call out. You notice the ground beneath you constantly changing from a night club to a football stadium, sometimes to a cratery moonlike surface, even an island in the middle of the ocean. The stars in the sky stay no matter what? Yes it is daytime? Of course it is, but how genuinely fast things are moving, the settings cannot keep up! It's almost sickening just how intense everything moves. It's icy at one point, then hot and sunny another, then a downpour of rain that doesn't affect anyone in the room. It's wet, it's dry, it's cold, it warm, you notice leaves on the ground turn green, then orange, then brown, then green again! It's... a lot. It's so much that at one point everything just.]

[Breaks.]

[Or rather it gets stopped and a small angry woman stares up at Viper.]

A short and cold looking woman with pigtailed short black hair and bright blue streaks glares at Rasalhague. "Are you the person breaking my system?"

[You feel a chill run down your spine.]

Viper shudders as she stares at the woman with an amount of fear "I'm just....picking options...is that not allowed?"

The woman simply stares at Viper and says one word, "Leave."

"Y-Yuki?" Luna meekly squeaks out. "That's uh.. she's with us."

Hinata adds on, "Yeah we were invited here by Pyra."

Yuki stares at Luna in a wintry cold vibe, "I know what you are. Fine. Don't fucking break my system! Understand?" For being such a short person, this Yuki is terrifying. An aura of pure cold energy eminates from her.

Viper slowly nods as she glances between Luna and Hinata with the expression of "What the fuck?"

Yuki humphs and walks out.

"That's Pyra's 'sis from another miss' Yuki. Whereas Pyra is hot-blooded, Yuki is very cold. She's also a genius with technology." Hinata explains.

[The arena is currently just glass. Seems like Yuki reset everything.]

Luna tacks onto Hinata’s explanation, "Yeah, I don't know her that well, but I know she's got connections with Nova. Just not as an admin."

Viper shudders again as she shakes her head "Remind me to not fuck with her, that's...not a person I wanna see angry...again"

"If looks could freeze someone to death.." Hinata muses after shaking her head.

Luna sighs, "Yeah definitely. Anyway, did you want to try anything else?"

Viper thinks for a moment then shakes her head "I don't really wanna fuck with it anymore....not after that..."

Hinata sighs in defeat, "Yeah probably for the best. Now if only we could stop Yuki. That chaos field was really cool too."

Viper nods in agreement, "Yeah, so...what do we do now? Just head home?" she looks between the two of them

Luna starts to walk out and holds the door open.

Hinata shrugs, "I guess, unless there's something else you want to do. There's a whole arcade in the Guild, but I'm not sure I want to be inside a Nova Guild right now."

Viper thinks about the arcade for a moment as she shrugs "I'd be fine with that if you two are, It's not like i'd be defenseless against creeps"

Luna looks up at Hinata then shrugs with a smile, "This is true. Not like we're totally defenseless either."

Hinata agrees and smiles brightly, "Okay! Let's head inside. Date night continues."

Viper steps out as she starts moving towards the arcade "I'd like to mention that I have so many more of these cosplay bodysuits tucked away in my closet so if there's a specific game character you like, I probably have it"

"That's really cool." Hinata grins while walking, "we'll let you know."

[TO BE CONCLUDED IN THE FINAL PART OF THIS EVENT]
