tPIxN7byEEw - The Feelings of Intense Failure

The night following the Eclipse Cannon’s destruction of both Solaire and FMS, Luna and Hinata listen into a final conversation Cole and Lochlan had in private using their empowered hearing skills. They are stunned throughout the conversation, worried that the JovianCove timeline was ending sooner than anticipated, and frozen, unable to intervene. Listening to all of Lochlan’s doubts and tears broke the two down. Finally, realizing Lochlan was gone, it was enough for them to sob. The true powerlessness of their actions in both the nonferal and magical world broke them. But neither of them cried. They pushed down the feelings and focused on just living.

Hours later, the two haven't moved or really done anything since the timeline ended and feeling Lochlan’s presence gone. If anything, they're totally in shock, but at the same time, perhaps they've realized this is just part of being friends with nonferals. It's inevitable. No matter how much they fight, it all resets. Realizing she's wasting time, Luna gets up, heads towards the kitchen. “Ugh, I’ll be right back. Need some water.” Hinata nods solemnly, “okay Lu. I love you.”

Instead of going to the kitchen however, Luna takes a deep breath and knocks on Cole’s bedroom door, wanting to talk to him and make sure he’s handling things alright. Perhaps it’s too soon to do so, but not being able to say goodbye to Lock/Lochlan for the umpteenth time is finally starting to bother her. Not to mention the broken promise of finding her a new partner, one who would love her for her and not for her powers, was too much for her to bear. “Hey Cole, do you want to talk?” Luna asks with a raspy voice.

Before Cole speaks there's the sound of papers shuffling and being moved around then it stops as he speaks, "....What is there to talk about? We lost all of our progress again."

"I mean you're right, but." Luna pauses for a moment, unsure how to really press on, "But I just.. I guess I just wanted to make sure you're doing alright. Us risen aren't done yet. The timeline will begin anew and we'll show Jovian what we're made of."

The papers continue being manipulated as he groans, "I'm....honestly just upset that I lost her again, and I almost had my foot in the door with getting more popular and powerful only for it to...." Several papers get ripped as he continues, "be ripped from my grasp."

Luna closes her eyes and takes another deep breath, her fists clenching out of his selfishness, "I think we all are upset. All of us had stake in nonferal earth, some... more than others, I admit. Hinata and I lost the ability to solve mysteries and our promise to Lochlan, you lost your adopted daughter again. Spider lost Terminal.” Another deep breath is taken as she tries to add a positive spin, “All we can do is look towards the future and keep fighting. And perhaps, maybe using nonferal earth for your own gain isn't exactly what we should be focusing on? No offense."

Cole sighs as he tosses some papers against the wall, "That's....not what I was gonna use the power for. I was gonna unite the nonferal world into one city and get rid of the people that wanted to exploit others. I was doing it for the people."

Luna sighs, her frustration growing and fists ready to punch the wall, "And that's just it, none of us knew this plan. I don't think it's possible for a single person to completely change the entire world. We need to work together on this and stop acting like everything is so hush hush every time. Otherwise we're going to continue to have heartbreak like this every single time the timeline resets. I'm sick and tired of having the control ripped from our paws. I'm tired of having to reintroduce myself. I'm tired Cole. We need to work together, otherwise we're gonna keep looping!"

Cole sighs, "And what? I tell you my plan that only I can reasonably execute? My own personal plan has nothing to do with what your goals are, there's no point in telling you a plan that is subject to change depending on various factors that I could explain for hours" Cole rips more papers as he groans, "I get it, you’re tired, you want this to end, but we ALL want this to end and no amount of working together magic is gonna fix it because we have our own very separate morals that clash!"

"And that's fine. All I'm asking for is more communication. Our morals may be very different, extremely true, but we're still a team working towards a timeline that doesn't reset because of Lock’s whim." Luna sounds calm but she's inches away from slamming her fist on the wall. Her breathing becomes irregular and heartrate increases. Due to her anger, her rage erupts into a fiery blue aura, one easily visible through the crack of the door. Her voice becomes rather snarly as she speaks, "Whatever. I'll be outside." She then walks out without another word.

Luna walks through the house and out the door to the front yard, looking for some fresh air. Hinata walks out behind her with a cold bottle of water as she recovers. The aura lasts for hours while her mana burns up in the process. At one of the trees, she punches it until her knuckles are bloodied up and bruised. Hinata tries to help her calm down, but it’s to no avail. The frustration of everything is too much. Eventually, hours later, Luna passes out from exhaustion and mana loss. Hinata picks her up and brings her back inside the house.
