Diary of an Archivist Catgirl is about an artificially created cyborg catgirl named Luna who lives in a world where Magic and Technology reign supreme. Luna is a walking talking experiment designed to see how her mind reacts to stimuli, both negative and positive, though mostly negative. It's through these experiments that she learns to harness the power of Magical Abilities, increase her Mana, and gain meaningful relationships. The issue is, an experiment by the Full Moon Syndicate - one of two scientific corporations of Capital City causes her mind to lock up. She is unable to keep any information past a day or so at first, and she is instructed by a close friend to archive her daily life in a diary. Luna does this for years on end, gaining little bits of upgrades to her mental power. It's not until people she meets online, the players, that Luna is able to remember more and more. She learns that her mind isn't just hers, but rather a whole database of information all about her own world including lots of secrets. Unfortunately, these secrets are often locked behind "Mental Locks" which usually require some kind of traumatic memory to be brought up or to learn a fact connected to them. In a way, to unlock Mental Locks, she requires a shock to the system, one hard enough to dislodge the Locks and help her remember.
The gameplay involves talking to the characters, making sense of certain mysteries, and unlocking Mental Locks to further progress the story. This gets coupled with roleplay that anyone is invited to partake in; which means the players are able to explore the World itself, perhaps finding answers to things that confuse them, or to fight in special boss battles which often happen with various creatures and/or other Magic users. It is quite literally a JRPG-inspired cyberpunk world and it's always changing. It's a living world full of characters, mysteries, mythical creatures, magic, and all kinds of different biomes to explore.
Thanks for giving my ARG a chance, and I hope you enjoy.
